The Shaking House

On Saturday the house shook from side to side. I felt it, very short but quite a strong shaking, and thought for a moment that something had run into the building, maybe a big tractor, or a military plane had gone over very low - But - there was no noise at all.

The big fellow didn't feel it as he was reading in his hammock. He heard a bit of creaking but thought it was me, walking overhead. So, how did I discover what the shake-up was?

It wasn't 'til I saw the news that I knew what it was - an earthquake!

We  had a little earthquake in the South West of England and Wales

The sheep were ok, if a little puzzled ....

It's an old sketch, but the sheep was puzzled when I did it.

It was very funny reading all the reactions and jokes about it. Nothing serious happened and nothing fell off our house as far as we can see.

A lot of jokes from English people and the Americans made some jokes at our expense too.
I found a picture on Twitter of someone's garden bench fallen over that made me giggle.

A Little Shake-up Can Be Productive

The house is safe, no harm done, but what if it had not been so? How would I continue doing what I do each day in the studio? I started to think about using the assets I already have and how I could use them better.

My profile here is a sorry looking thing with no thoughts, opinions or records of events. Just a few pictures that were added a long time ago. This empty blog needs a bit of attention; a post or two to feel my way.

Perhaps this first post will pave the way for a steady flow of news and experiments.
I call it Studio Ramblings because it's likely to Ramble, to be composed of random subjects and I hope to give it some unity by including a sketch, painting or at least something to do with the studio in each piece.

Well that's the extent of the earth-shattering news at my end...
Anything exciting going on round your way?
